Masters student of Design and Urban Ecologies
Gemma Duffee is a Masters student of Design and Urban Ecologies at Parsons, The New School. With a B.A. in Anthropology, her approach to urban design is human centered, and considers how the convergence of policy, planning and the built environment impact the lived experiences of the city over time. Her current work focuses on homelessness in New York City, and the uneven distribution of maintenance of public infrastructure. Drawing on quantitative and qualitative research, through community collaboration, her research traces how urbanization impacts marginalized groups socially and physically, from scales of public memory to health.
